Wor-Wic Community College is accepting applications for a full-time department head to supervise, manage and teach in one of two credit programs within the mathematics and science department.
Essential Duties Duties include managing daily operations, supervising department staff, creating and managing budgets, hiring department faculty, observing and evaluating faculty, writing proposals, managing the annual and five-year assessment processes, serving on and/or leading committees, providing academic and professional leadership for the department, developing the curriculum, scheduling classes and assigning faculty, assessing academic quality, and serving as credit faculty up to 36 credits per fiscal year depending on administrative release time.
Minimum Requirements
Master’s degree in a relevant field and the ability to teach the required course load within departmental disciplines
Three years of full-time teaching experience or the equivalent
Strong written and oral communication, teaching, budget management and computer skills
Valid driver’s license
Preference will be given to candidates with a doctoral degree and supervisory and/or proven administrative experience.
Supplemental Information This 12-month position is currently part of the WWCCFA bargaining unit represented by the MSEA and includes an excellent fringe benefits package. The faculty rank is assigned by the vice president for academic affairs and is dependent on the successful candidate’s education and relevant experience.
The starting salary for this position will likely fall in this range, based on rank.
