Senior Quality Assurance Engineer

to provide direct engineering and technical support for the

Prototype, Manufacturing and Test Department (PMTD)

at NAWCAD Lakehurst. This work supports mission-critical Aircraft Launch and Recovery Equipment (ALRE) and Support Equipment (SE) systems, including

EMALS, AAG, ARC, Low Loss Launch Valves, and Cross Deck Pendants . This role is essential to ensuring

quality, compliance, and reliability

in the design, prototyping, manufacturing, and installation of Navy hardware. The ideal candidate will have extensive QA experience, welding expertise, and strong familiarity with

ISO, MIL-Q, and military specifications . Responsibilities As a Senior QA Engineer, you will: Support quality engineering across ALRE/SE manufacturing, prototyping, testing, and installations. Review engineering drawings, military specs, MPRs, and technical documentation for QA compliance. Prepare, qualify, and apply welding procedures; select appropriate welding methods; and certify PMTD welding personnel. Support ISO 9001 quality programs, audits, and updates to standard operating procedures. Provide QA verification, inspections, and vendor oversight to ensure conformance with Navy engineering requirements. Manage and investigate Product Quality Deficiency Reports and material deficiencies. Assist in development of Technical Data Review documents for procurement actions. Monitor production workflows, recommend process improvements, and ensure project deliverables meet

cost, schedule, and quality objectives . Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve issues and improve manufacturing processes.

Required Qualifications Education : Masters degree in Engineering (must include coursework in QA practices and procedures). Bachelors in

Materials or Mechanical Engineering

is highly desirable.

Experience : 10+ years

working in a formal quality program (e.g.,

ISO 9001, MIL-Q-9858, MIL-I-45208A , or equivalent). 5+ years

reading and interpreting

engineering drawings , Government drawing formats,

MPRs , and

military specifications . 5+ years

specialized experience preparing

welding procedures

and selecting

welding methods

(or equivalent metallurgical sciences experience).

Clearance : Active

Secret Security Clearance

(must be current). Preferred Skills Strong background in naval, aerospace, or defense manufacturing QA. Experience with vendor inspections, audits, and compliance verification. Familiarity with ISO 9001 documentation processes and corrective actions. Effective communicator with ability to interface between

production, engineering, and QA teams .
