Under the guidance of the Fire Alarm Manager, the Fire Alarm designer will assist in the preparation of NFPA compliant fire alarm shop drawings utilizing AutoCAD. The candidate will assist in surveying existing fire alarm systems, fire alarm submittals, material listing, and estimating as required to successfully install fire alarm systems. This position requires an eager and motivated team player with a positive, professional attitude and demeanor. The position is located out of our Charlotte district office. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Produce project drawings, specifications, as-builts, and all other documents required to support the installation of Fire Alarm Systems. Review drawings for code compliance, specifications, and technical oversight. Facilitate customer project needs for specific specifications and site conditions. Maintain project drawing files, associated records, and documentation tracking. Perform field job site surveys when needed. Coordinate project needs with sales and project managers overseeing code compliance and design. Submit Shop drawings for permits. JOB REQUIREMENTS
Three years’ work-related experience with IBC, NEC 70, and NFPA 72 code standards, with NICET II Certification or greater preferred. Able to complete documentation and administrative duties as necessary; proficient in the use of personal computers, Autocad, and Microsoft Office tools, with experience in Service Trade and Inspect Point preferred. Capability to present information and respond to questions from managers, customers, and Authorities Having Jurisdiction. Demonstrated competency in verbal and written business communication skills. Possess a valid driver’s license and meet company driving requirements. Successful completion of a drug test and pre-employment background screening is required.
