Role The Senior Manager in Commercial Network & Provider is responsible for product management leadership for multiple product teams. They own and define the product vision and strategy, roadmap, feature delivery, and overall success to enable a best-in-class end-to-end experience. They manage a backlog of features and enablers to enhance the product and extend its architectural and discovery runway. They are responsible for overall product health, including technical health, and risk communication. They provide leadership on how to sequence and prioritize investments to optimize value. This is an individual contributor role leading product teams to achieve key outcomes by collaborating with Product Owners, Domain Owners, and Analysts, and creating a positive team culture through growing, coaching, and establishing high-performing teams. They work closely with the Business General Manager, Design, Engineering, and Data/Analytics forming the “Five in the Box” cross-discipline product team and serve as the main point of contact with other stakeholders such as architects, tech-ops, security, etc., to ensure cohesion for their product or experience.

Product Vision, Strategy, and Roadmaps

Defines and socializes the product vision, strategy, and roadmap in collaboration with the 5-in-the-box team; assesses and refines as needed.

Establishes Epics or initiatives aligned to strategic programs and delivers upon the product strategy.

Partners with the business general manager (GM) and stakeholders to decide on investment priorities and develop business cases.

Translates customer and business needs into short-term and long-term product strategy by creating initiatives/epics defined to meet targeted outcomes.

Connects the roadmap to specific value drivers that contribute to business priorities, objectives, key results, and strategic programs.

Aligns roadmaps, backlogs, capacity, timelines, and commitments across relevant product areas to deliver.

Defines product OKRs to evaluate progress toward outcomes, aligned with business objectives.

Product Backlog Ownership, User Story Development, and Prioritization

Aligns roadmaps, backlogs, capacity, timelines, and commitments across product areas to deliver.

Facilitates agile ceremonies and meetings, including PI Planning, in partnership with the product leadership team.

Defines epics, features, and partners with product owners to define user stories, identifies dependencies, and works with teams to size ahead of future quarters.

Ensures incremental learnings from product delivery are prioritized in the backlog.

Trend Monitoring and Product Performance

Uses performance data to establish feedback loops for new insights and hypotheses about product health. Key metrics include core product metrics, technical health, and customer feedback.

Tracks product OKRs to monitor progress toward outcomes and KPIs, socializes progress, and reinforces alignment with solution-level or portfolio outcomes.

Coordinates product launches, including beta testing, user feedback collection, and product documentation.

Product Value, Cross-Functional Teaming, and Stakeholder Management

Sets direction and provides continuous feedback for discovery work, ensuring the product team focuses on continuous exploration.

Understands market and customer needs through partnership with business and customer insight teams.

Accountable for showcasing the product team’s delivery and final output to stakeholders.

Interfaces with Product Strategy to communicate progress, insights, and risks across the business with key stakeholders.

Ensures business strategies and targeted outcomes are understood and socialized to product teams.

Leads the 5-in-the-box cross-functional team, including partnership with business General Managers.

Grow and Develop the Team

Understands the hiring market to identify successful candidates with the right blend of personality and skillset.

Champions strong product management and agile mindsets and communicates team wins and opportunities.

Establishes high-performing teams by growing, coaching, and maintaining quality Product Owners and Domain Owners and defining team norms for operation.

Promotes a customer-centric culture where teams understand current performance, opportunities, the north star vision, and monitor key product health metrics with updates.

Required Qualifications

7+ years of experience in technical product management, focusing on building technical products and services.

7+ years of experience in building and managing technical product teams using Agile.

7+ years of experience with large-scale modernization programs in a technical capacity.

3+ years of experience working in the healthcare payor industry.

Preferred Qualifications

Ability to drive cross-functional teams to alignment in ambiguity.

Strong decision-making skills in fast-moving environments.

Experience leading product transformation within a large enterprise.

Strong negotiation, organizational, management, analytical, and people skills.

Data-driven decision making and quantitative analysis skills.

General understanding of core programming and computer science concepts, including cloud and AI/ML.

Agile Certification.

Education Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

Pay Range The typical pay range for this role is $118,450.00 - $260,590.00. This range represents base pay for positions at this job grade. Actual base salary offers depend on factors including experience, education, geography, and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range. This position also includes an equity award target.
