Overview
The Catholic Music Director supports the Chapel mission by working cooperatively with leadership, staff members, and volunteers. Responsibilities
Recruit, assemble, rehearse, and lead Praise Team in songs and musical segments during the Catholic Worship Service Play music and lead congregation in worship songs Meet as required with Catholic Worship Service Chaplains, Band, and/or Praise Team to discuss pertinent musical issues related to the performance of duties Coordinate with the Chapel Staff to ensure all volunteers working with youth below 18 years of age receive a background check Set up and work with Chapel sound equipment used for the worship service. Chapel will supply a list of equipment Education & Qualifications
Possess a general understanding of the basic concepts of Christian doctrine Possess a minimum of two (2) years’ experience as a Praise and Worship Musician and/or Director in a Catholic Worship Service setting Have training in music with the ability to read music (including chords) and/or to effectively play by “ear.” Willing to work within an interdenominational and interfaith setting with chaplains and parishioners of diverse religious positions/backgrounds Seniority level
