The Washington State Department of Corrections is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual to join the Business Services Payroll Team at Clallam Bay Corrections Center as a
Fiscal Analyst 1 (FA1) . This position is part of a dynamic team of DOC Business Services payroll staff who ensure payroll data is accurately recorded, employee’s paychecks are timely and correct, and for Coordinating Payroll Benefits for DOC employees at Clallam Bay Corrections Center (CBCC). The candidate of choice will contribute to creating environments in which all incarcerated individuals can learn to make choices that contribute to a safer society by ensuring accurate and timely payroll for department staff who support this endeavor. Responsibilities
As a Fiscal Analyst 1, some of your duties will include: Ensuring payroll data is accurately recorded and employee’s paychecks are timely and correct, which could include: Using ATLAS and/or HRMS reports, ensure proper allocations for time worked. Analyze and correct discrepancies Reviewing and assessing overtime and leave reports for reasonableness, investigate and resolve any issues Analyzing leave reports to ensure the correct leave type is appropriately applied, correcting or adjusting balances as needed Analyzing holiday premiums, resolve discrepancies and correct system entries Interpreting and applying rules associated with leave usage to leave slips received and ATLAS leave entries Providing excellent customer service Accurately and efficiently performing the payroll and timekeeping Maintaining Retro-Log and Overpayment Worksheets Responsible for Coordinating Payroll Benefits. What we need (required qualifications): High School Diploma or GED Completion of Accounting 201 from an accredited college or university whose accreditation is recognized by the US Department of Education and the Council of Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) or foreign equivalent within the six months from date of hire What will make your application stand out (preferred qualifications): One year of relevant experience Relevant experience is defined as Fiscal Technician 2 or above level work A business focused Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university whose accreditation is recognized by the US Department of Education and the Council of Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) or foreign equivalent, with minimum 20 accounting credits to include Accounting 201, 202, 203 and Governmental Accounting Vision

Employees are expected to perform assigned duties in a safe manner, to take proper care all state-issued equipment, and maintain confidentiality of all information in possession while working offsite. Employees will be required to commute to a Department of Corrections facility or field office as business requires, to potentially include components of the onboarding process.
