Job Purpose/Summary We are seeking a skilled DSP Engineer to support algorithm design, hardware and software prototyping, and evaluation of DSP systems for projects in cybersecurity and telecommunications.
The ideal candidate will combine expertise in RF circuit design, system prototyping, and ruggedization to support scientific and data collection efforts. This position is perfect for someone passionate about designing robust hardware solutions for cutting-edge RF and communication technologies.
Duties and Responsibilities
Develop embedded DSP code and ML model integration for edge devices using SoC/CPU/GPU platforms.
Implement real-time RF signal processing algorithms for detection, demodulation, and classification of various RF communications signals.
Collaborate with AI/ML teams to containerize detection models and optimize inference at the edge.
Tune signal processing pipelines for multi-band detection (433 MHz – 5.8 GHz).
Optimize code for performance under constrained memory, power, and compute.
Support system-level integration and testing of the embedded detection stack.
Qualifications Minimum:
S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Proficiency in C/C++, Python, and tools like GNU Radio, SoapySDR, or SDR frameworks
Experience working with RF signals, SDRs, or time/frequency-domain processing
Familiarity with Linux-based embedded systems
Preferred:
Experience deploying containerized models to edge compute platforms (Jetson, Raspberry Pi, etc.)
Familiarity with cellular, radar, Wifi, Bluetooth or UAV/UAS signaling is a plus
Familiarity with anomaly detection or signal classification ML methods
Experience with OTA update mechanisms and field reliability
Security clearance or ability to obtain one
