UNC Health is currently seeking a Board Eligible/Certified Pediatric Endocrinologist for a clinical faculty position to practice in our multi-spec specialty academic practice in Wilmington, NC. This team is part of an innovative partnership between UNC Health, UNC School of Medicine and Novant Health to provide specialty care to children from communities throughout southeastern and coastal NC. The Novant Health - New Hanover Regional Medical Center (NH-NHRMC) facility is a full spectrum community-based, multispecialty practice and a children’s hospital that includes a 45 bed Level III NICU, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and inpatient unit. The faculty member will also be expected to develop and perform clinical activities in surrounding outreach locations in Southeastern NC. As a top-tier academic medical center, UNC Children’s upholds a four-tiered mission to CARE, aligning clinical care, advocacy, research, and education to deliver world-class family-centered care. The UNC Division of Pediatric Endocrinology in Chapel Hill is nationally known as a center of excellence for care of children with diabetes or endocrinologic problems, including multidisciplinary clinics in Turner Syndrome, gender wellness, and disorders of sexual development. Through the partnership between Novant Health and UNC Children’s, NH-NHRMC will become the tertiary care referral hospital for children in Coastal and Southeastern NC. There will also be ongoing expansion of educational opportunities with medical students, other health profession students, and residents. Although not the primary focus of the center, research opportunities are available. Expertise in the management of high-prevalence endocrinology conditions of children, along with willingness and interest in managing rare and complex conditions with the support of the UNC Children’s Hospital in Chapel Hill, is expected. Responsibilities
Full-time clinical faculty position with focus on outpatient care; some inpatient consultation services. Develop and perform clinical activities in surrounding outreach locations in Southeastern North Carolina. Join and collaborate with the current pediatric endocrinologists in a busy practice with opportunities for future growth. Engage in teaching and educational opportunities for medical students, other health profession students, and residents; maintain connection to a larger academic division in Chapel Hill. Research opportunities are available, though not the primary focus of the center. Qualifications
Board certified or eligible in Pediatric Endocrinology. Expertise in management of high-prevalence endocrinology conditions of children with willingness and interest in managing rare and complex conditions with support from UNC Children’s Hospital in Chapel Hill. Location and Context
