Overview
As the Sr. Director TM Controller & PoL Applications, you will be the Technical interface to R&D and customers, support technical Go-to-Market activities, provide technical customer support on application and product level to secure design-ins.
Applications Engineering senior director leading and managing Power Application Engineering team from product concept through the product development cycle, the silicon design-in at customers and the production life cycle of the product. Position requires a focus on the technical innovation and quality delivery of product concept and definition, silicon development, design-in collateral including demo boards, and collaboration on internal and external customer partnerships to allow Infineon to meet revenue goals.

Detailed knowledge of Industry specifications used in the controllers such as SMBUS, PMBUS, and Intel SVID
Able to collaborate with all functions in the organization from Program management, to IC design, Software (GUI) development, Marketing, FAE’s and sales to ensure companies success
Extremely responsive, ready to jump on the most difficult design and/or customer issues instantly
Good at developing relationships with internal and external engineering community
Effectively multi-task, manage priorities and solve technical problems independently
Self-learning, self-disciplined, and a good team player
Approximately 15+ years in engineering design and/or applications engineering and customer support. 8+ years of managing application engineering teams
Strong hands-on experience with DC/DC switch mode power supplies including buck, boost, buck-boost converters and high current power stages
BSEE or MSEE preferred with hands-on experience in high-frequency, high-current, high-density DC/DC designs including extensive lab skills for the test and debug of switch mode power supplies
In your new role you will
Directs and guides the activities of a technical application engineering team that as a group are responsible for development and go to market for multiphase controllers, power stages point of loads, PS/PoL modules, and customer design-in of these products
Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the Andover, San Jose, Warwick RI, and El Segundo, CA System Application Engineering group
Plan and implement the EP application roadmap with demo boards and topologies for Server, AI, GPU and datacom applications
Manage the annual reviews and promotion plan for the team
Plan for team growth in personnel and in site needs for AE’s
Create and implement procedure to guide work in product definition, product verification, and collateral including DS, App notes, simulation software and GUI
Leading and contribute to multi-phase digital controllers, point of load, and power stages product feature definition
Find a path forward when technical, personnel and/or business issues arise
Propose and implement technical improvements to controller design especially in the areas of control type, transient response, current balance, and other power performance areas of the controller
Engage in continuous learning about leading and working with others and pass relevant/key learnings onto direct reports and line managers
Travel (Approximately 25% of the time) to provide on-site leadership and conversation

For Andover, MA the base salary range is $197,920 – $272,140; for El Segundo, CA it is $218,160 – $299,970. All employees are eligible for an incentive plan.
