Director of Patient Care Services (DPCS) {Home Health & Hospice Exp.)
About the Role
A well-established provider of Hospice and Palliative Care is seeking a full-time Director of Patient Care Services (DPCS) to lead its hospice program in the Greater Los Angeles area. This executive leadership position holds overall clinical management responsibility and ensures the successful delivery of care to patients and families.
The DPCS acts as a liaison between the Administrator, clinical staff, patients, families, and the community. This role supervises clinical teams, including team managers, contracted services, on-call, and continuous care staff. The DPCS also plays a key role in hiring, staff retention, quality assurance, training, and patient advocacy.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee clinical operations of the hospice program
- Supervise and evaluate clinical staff
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards
- Implement and monitor quality assurance initiatives
- Advocate for patients and uphold organizational mission and values
- Facilitate staff training and development
- Ensure appropriate patient admissions and care delivery
- Maintain effective communication across teams and stakeholders
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program with a BSN or higher in nursing or a health-related field
- Current California RN license (Hospice and Palliative Nursing Certification preferred)
- Minimum of five years of professional experience, including three years in hospice/home health and one year in a supervisory or administrative role
- Strong leadership, organizational, and decision-making skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Proficient in electronic medical records and computer systems
- Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation
