Job Details
The Director of Finance will be responsible for the development of the financial reporting, planning and analysis strategy, and will contribute, as a key member of the leadership team to the development and execute on the organization’s strategic goals
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with leadership to align financial planning with business strategy and shareholder value creation
- Identify performance improvement opportunities and build clear execution plans to capture value
- Help prioritize and evaluate capital investment opportunities to ensure optimal resource allocation
- Lead the preparation of timely, accurate financial reports and actionable insights through dashboards, KPIs, and ad hoc analyses
- Support monthly forecasting to identify emerging risks and opportunities and inform decision-making
- Play a central role in the annual budgeting process and partner with leadership to set and track financial targets
- Support high-growth initiatives including greenfield expansion and M&A through financial modeling, diligence, and post-deal integration
- Ensure the division delivers accurate financial reporting and maintains compliance with internal controls and corporate policies
- Strengthen financial processes, procedures, and reporting tools to enhance efficiency and transparency
- Serve as a liaison for internal and external audits and help drive a culture of accountability across the business
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing finance team that operates as strategic business partners
- Promote a culture of continuous learning, operational excellence, and financial discipline across all levels of the organization
- Mentor and train business leaders to improve financial acumen and ensure alignment with compliance standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration or accounting with MBA and/or CPA preferred
- 10+ years of financial reporting and analysis experience, preferably 5+ years leading financial reporting and analysis for a publicly traded company
- Distribution, building products, or multi-location retail experience preferred
- Proven experience leading, developing, and managing a strategic finance function, with full financial management responsibility including oversight of budget, forecasting, financial reporting, best practice controls and processes, investments, and risk mitigation
- Ability to work effectively in a matrixed organization and to align and coordinate with peers across the organization
- Proven team management, project management, and change management skills
