Dental Hygienist

Location: Alexandria, Virginia

Pay: From $35 per hour

Must have / Qualifications

• Experienced Dental Hygienist
• Registered as a Dental Hygienist
• Licensed to work as a Dental Hygienist in Virginia
• Minimum of an Associates degree in Dental Hygiene
• Active CPR

Duties

• Counsel patients and keep them calm during examination and treatment
• Screen patients, including conducting mouth and neck examinations and reviewing oral health history
• Educate patients on proper teeth and gum care
• Take X-rays and develop dental impressions and radiographs of teeth
• Sterilize dental instruments and equipment
• Remove plaque, clean teeth and help prevent gum disease
• Support the Dentist on all aspects of dental care
• Stay current with the latest developments in dentistry
• Collect medical and dental histories from patients
• Chart dental conditions based on observations and evaluations
