Minimum Specifications

Education

– Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, or a related field.

Experience

– Five years of experience working with IT systems infrastructure, including one or more of the following technologies: Active Directory, DNS, networking, DHCP, WINS, SharePoint, VMware, Workspace ONE, VMware MDT, Azure, AWS, Exchange, Windows Server, Apache, UNIX, Oracle, SQL and SMS/SCCM. Must have scripting experience. Must have experience in one of the following or similar database management systems: Oracle, MySQL Server and Postgres.

Equivalent Education and/or Experience

– May have an equivalent combination of education and experience to substitute for both the education and the experience requirements.

Certification/Registration/Licensure

– Prefer MCITP or a similar industry-recognized certification. Prefer CompTIA Security+ or a similar certification.

Skills or Special Abilities

– Solid understanding of CVE, CVSS and vulnerability scanning/reporting tools; ability to develop system specifications and decision flows from written business requirements; ability to develop system configurations from detailed specifications; ability to develop detailed operational documentation; solid working knowledge of computer products; ability to communicate verbally and in writing with peers and senior personnel; strong critical thinking skills; ability to accept direction and prepare specifications reflecting provided information; knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, and database table management in a PC environment; may be subject to temporary reassignments; ability to multi-task and address urgent tasks to meet business needs and reduce risk.

Responsibilities

Protecting the confidentiality, availability and integrity of information assets on premise and in cloud environments.

Installing, configuring and maintaining firmware updates, operating system security patches and vulnerability remediation, in support of business requirements.

Conducting complex hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.

Implementing operating system enhancements that will improve the reliability and performance of the system.

Ensuring long term requirements of system operations and administration are included in the overall information systems planning of Parkland.

Developing, executing and tracking the performance of security measures to protect information and network infrastructure and computer systems.

Generating, analyzing and reporting on existing vulnerabilities and recommending mitigations.

Serving as a resource for systems engineering team employees, ensuring they have access to up-to-date information regarding best practices and security standards for the organization.

Ensuring a comprehensive operating system hardware and software configuration database/library of all supporting documentation is maintained.

Identifying ways to improve work processes and customer satisfaction; making recommendations, implementing and monitoring results in support of departmental and Parkland goals.

Staying abreast of the latest developments, advancements, and trends in Systems Engineering by attending seminars/workshops, reading professional journals, and participating in professional organizations; integrating knowledge into current practices.

Maintaining knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, policies, laws and guidelines that impact IT systems at Parkland; developing effective internal controls to promote adherence to laws, accreditation requirements, and health plan regulations; seeking guidance as needed.
