Academic Hospitalist / Nocturnist (03) - OC

The Division of Hospitalist and General Internal Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine is recruiting full-time hospitalists for non-tenure track faculty positions at our University of Maryland Medical Center Downtown and Midtown campuses. These positions will provide attending hospitalist responsibilities on our Direct Care Hospitalist Services at both campuses, primarily based at one of the two campuses. The faculty staffing model involves clinical responsibilities across both campuses, including participation in a group practice with over 30 hospitalists, medical student teaching, and supervision of residents on inpatient services.

Coverage includes, but is not limited to, medical transplant patients, general internal medicine patients on teaching and non-teaching services, medical consultations, transplant medicine consultations, and co-management of surgical services. There are opportunities for candidates interested in working as a nocturnist, providing overnight coverage with an appropriate salary differential.

The expected faculty rank is Assistant Professor; however, rank, tenure status, and salary depend on the candidate’s qualifications and experience. The salary range for Assistant Professors is $, (min) - $, (max), based on faculty rank and years in rank. This range reflects base pay and does not include all components of the departmental faculty compensation program or variable pay components. Qualifications

Candidates must be board certified or eligible in internal medicine and eligible for an unrestricted license in Maryland. A medical degree from an accredited domestic or foreign institution, a commitment to patient care and teaching, and the ability to work well in a team are required.
