Overview

Develops program and project requirements, designs solutions in robotics, automation, and tooling for the Production System, and validates analysis of technical data to influence product engineering design. Leads the creation and modification of equipment and tooling definitions at the program level, executes project plans, and partners with Procurement to meet schedule, cost, and quality targets while ensuring safety, producibility, maintainability, reliability, ergonomic factors, and regulatory requirements. Leads gated reviews and develops plans for production readiness, preventative maintenance, and spares. Validates contractual performance milestones and maintains configuration control, documenting technical reviews and plans for production readiness, maintenance, and spares. Coordinates with customers and operations to define mechanical support equipment performance requirements and ensure interface compatibility. Provides engineering expertise during production development activities, including development of highly complex equipment and tooling solutions and exploration of alternatives for the Production System. Participates in equipment and tool inspections/demonstrations to verify requirements are met. Leads Root Cause/Corrective Action (RCCA) efforts and drives RCCA results to production. Assists engineers or technicians with returning equipment to production and conducts training for Production and Maintenance personnel. Provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements. Creates and implements maintenance workshops with production and maintenance personnel. Skills and Requirements Final TOP SECRET clearance (pre-start) Proficiency in Model-Based Definition and Drawing-Based Definition utilizing CATIA V5 with configuration management in ENOVIA and/or Teamcenter Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) Hands-on experience with production equipment troubleshooting related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience 9 years of experience in interacting with customers (both internal and external), at all levels, on a one-on-one basis and in group settings Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Experience with Model Based Engineering, Data Integration, and a solid understanding of the Enterprise Standard Gated Practice 4 years of relevant experience in Digital Transformation Experience with programming, integrating or troubleshooting industrial controls from OEMs Experience in automation and robotics Familiarity with RCCAs and the tools used to conduct them (5 Why, Fishbone, KNOT charts, etc) Experience with stress analysis hand calculations and results validation with any one or more of the following programs - RISA, Nastran, Abaqus, Ansys, Autodesk Mechanical or aerospace engineering degree
