Google User Experience (UX) is made up of multi-disciplinary teams of UX Designers, Researchers, Writers, Content Strategists, Program Managers, and Engineers. The UX team collaborates with engineering and product management to create industry-leading products that deliver value for users and Google’s businesses.

As an Interaction Designer, you’ll rely on user-centered design methods to craft industry-leading user experiences—from concept to execution. You’ll collaborate with design partners to leverage and evolve the Google design language to build beautiful, innovative, inspired products that people love to use.

We’re transforming YouTube with new video creation experiences and tools, including YouTube’s web-based Effect Maker, designed for creators who want to dream it, design it, and drop it straight onto YouTube.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders to understand requirements and provide creative, thoughtful solutions.

Communicate the user experience at various stages of the design process with wireframes, flow diagrams, storyboards, mockups, or high fidelity prototypes.

Integrate user feedback and business requirements into ongoing product experience updates.

Advocate for the prioritization of design-centered changes, refinements, and improvements.

Design, validate, and refine feature experiences for YouTube’s web-based Effect Maker.

Qualifications Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

4 years of interaction design experience in product design or UX design.

Experience working on effect making tools or analogous creation tools.

Experience designing or creating effects for video creation platforms.

Include a portfolio, website, or any other relevant link to your work in your resume (providing a viewable link or access instructions).

Preferred qualifications:

Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

2 years of experience working in a complex, cross-functional organization.

1 year of experience leading design projects.

Experience with mobile video creation or editing products.

Experience using or designing for visual scripting platforms.

Compensation The US base salary range for this full-time position is $129,000-$185,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay within the range is determined by location and factors such as skills, experience, and education. Please note that compensation details listed reflect base salary only and do not include bonus, equity, or benefits.
