Overview ACORE seeks a Director of Events to inform the strategy, design, and execution of the organization’s convenings, from large-scale conferences to intimate salon dinners. This leader will ensure every ACORE event advances our mission, elevates our brand, and delivers measurable value to members and stakeholders. The role includes developing new, revenue-generating event concepts to expand impact and financial sustainability. Key Job DutiesEvent Production & Management
Maintain best-in-class standards for event design, execution, and attendee experience Oversee planning and execution for three annual conferences, plus a portfolio of workshops, webinars, dinners, and receptions Develop and manage event budgets, monitor expenses and revenue, and report regularly on performance Negotiate contracts with hotels, venues, and service providers to achieve cost savings and maximize value Coordinate on the creation of event marketing plans, promotional signage and collateral with the Senior Marketing Manager Programming & Content Development
Lead internal collaboration with policy and engagement teams to shape compelling and marketable event agendas that translate technical policy expertise into engaging audience programming Guide the selection of event speakers to ensure diversity of perspectives and topics across all conferences and programs; ensure appropriate coordination and preparation for all speakers Leadership & Collaboration
Manage and support the Events Manager, fostering professional development and career growth Assist the Chief of Staff in developing and refining the strategy and annual roadmap for ACORE events Collaborate with marketing, communications, and membership teams to promote and leverage events for sponsorship, member, and media engagement Evaluation & Innovation
Create and scale new event offerings that drive additional revenue and enhance stakeholder engagement Identify market gaps and member needs to propose new events or formats Collect and analyze attendee feedback to continuously improve event quality Track event metrics and trends to drive innovation and ensure competitive positioning Must-Haves
Bachelor’s degree required (CMP/CMM designation a plus) 5+ years of event and conference planning experience Strong problem-solving and able to think on your feet Strong project management skills in a fast-paced environment Commitment to customer service Experience interacting with C-Level professionals and policymakers Ability to occasionally work non-business hours and travel (about 10%) The Perks of Working at ACORE
