What You'll Do
- Build HR From the Ground Up: Establish and implement policies, compliance frameworks, and systems that align with both U.S. and global standards.
- Lead Recruitment & Onboarding: Drive talent acquisition strategies, oversee the full hiring cycle, and ensure smooth integration of new team members.
- Drive Employee Relations: Partner with leadership to foster a positive workplace, handle sensitive employee matters with professionalism, and support career development.
- Shape Training & Development: Implement programs that promote continuous learning and growth across the organization.
- Manage Compensation & Benefits: Ensure competitive and compliant programs, oversee payroll operations, and support expatriate employees.
- Support Expatriates: Provide hands-on assistance for relocation, housing, and ongoing assignment needs.
- Lead HR Systems & Administration: Manage HRIS (ADP) and related tools while ensuring accurate data management.
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field (advanced degree or SHRM certification preferred).
- 10+ years of progressive HR management experience across multiple functions.
- Proven experience setting up HR operations in a startup or high-growth environment.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. labor laws; exposure to international HR practices a plus.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Adaptable, hands-on, and motivated to build something new.
- Experience in pharmaceutical or life sciences industry and familiarity with Japanese business culture is highly valued.
- Play a pivotal role in building HR operations at a U.S. startup backed by a respected global healthcare leader.
- Work in a multicultural, international environment with close collaboration between U.S. and Japan.
- Hybrid work model: three days onsite in Schaumburg, with flexibility for international collaboration.
