Primary Purpose The level I field Operator reports to the Operations Supervisor and is a member of multi-disciplined crew responsible for the operation of the Port Arthur LNG export facility, including facility utility areas, LNG ship loading activities and emergency response. The incumbent is expected to be able to take instructions and learn to conduct his/her duties activities in a safe manner, under supervision, on the Port Arthur LNG facility. Dedication, sensitivity to safety issues and compliance with policies and procedures is essential for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the plant.

Duties and Responsibilities

Helps operate Utility and Storage and Loading plant process areas including instrument air systems, nitrogen systems, refrigerant storage and loading systems including storage tanks, jetty operations, and LNG ship loading. Provides routine support on maintenance and security tasks when operations schedules permit. Monitors and records instrument readings of gas volumes, temperatures, flows and pressures to ensure safe operation and quality product, and reports deviations from standard so that corrective action can implemented. Trains on environmental safety, operations, and security procedures Operates the facility recognizing the safety and environmental consequences of actions taken. Achieves the highest levels of environmental and safety compliance Performs routine operations on terminal equipment such as inspection, start-up, shutdown, on his/her shift; performs all work in accordance with sound safety practices and using appropriate safety devices and equipment Assists with the pre-commissioning, commissioning, startup, and initial operation of the Port Arthur LNG Facility. This will include being a vital member of the integrated commissioning / start-up team(s) with the EPC contractor Keeps skills and knowledge current and completes required refresher training to maintain and elevate the level of process understanding Works with a culturally diverse group of technical individuals whose skills cover the range required to operate and maintain the operations of the Port Arthur Liquefaction facility Establishes a mutually respectful relationship with management, peers and the various facility level workers who are all responsible for ensuring operational excellence. Records and reviews operating performance data and informs Shift Supervisor and/or Senior Operator of potential problems and failures in a timely manner; works with Shift Supervisor and/or Senior Operator to expeditiously resolve plant problems and improve plant reliability and safety. Performs all duties applying safety protocols and adhering to regulatory mandates Supports housekeeping activities in areas of responsibility to eliminate safety hazards and maintain a clean working environment Inspects safety devices in area assigned, verifies their placement, evaluate their operational status to establish their hazard/incident detection and warning capabilities to prevent fires and accidents. Report all issues detected or incidents immediately upon inspection/testing of safety devices Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties). Qualifications

Education

Associate's Degree Associate degree in Process Technology or other related field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience Preferred Experience

1+ year of Petrochemical, Refining, or Oil & Gas. (LNG Operations Experience is not mandatory). Preferred Skills and Abilities

Intermediate Strong ability to follow best practices for operations Intermediate Knowledge of operating site safety, environmental, and emergency response programs Intermediate Ability to apply written and oral communication skills while presenting and participating in fruitful discussions with internal stakeholders Beginner Ability to understand the complexities and risk associated with an operating LNG facility and make necessary strategic decisions to operate the facility safely and reliably Beginner Knowledge and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, i.e. Word, Excel, PPT, Visio to convey information with clarity through presentations and reports. Beginner Understanding of maintenance work process and permitting systems Beginner Working knowledge and understanding of how to read and interpret P&IDs Beginner Ability to manage multiple and complex issues and work independently Intermediate Understanding of competency development programs and supporting tools and practices Intermediate Working knowledge of permit to work and safe isolation practices Beginner Organized, planning skills, able to manage multiple activities and programs in timely fashion and with a high degree of accuracy, able to meet work deadlines.
