Real Estate Controller Our client located in Dallas, TX is looking for a Real Estate Controller to manage their accounting team. This is a onsite direct hire position.
Company Profile Commercial Real Estate
Real Estate Controller Role: Lead accounting and finance operations with direct visibility to senior leadership Oversee general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, consolidations, and treasury functions Prepare GAAP financial statements across multiple entities (30â€"40 per accountant) Manage budgets, forecasts, cash flow, and project funding Provide financial insights to support project performance and strategic decision-making Implement and strengthen internal controls, policies, and processes Partner with banks, auditors, tax advisors, and other external stakeholders Mentor, train, and develop accounting staff to build a high-performing team Hands-on role with active involvement in day-to-day accounting, not just review-level work Lead and support staff in a fast-paced environment managing a large portfolio of entities
Real Estate Controller Background Profile: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred 7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including 3+ years in a leadership role Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems; Sage Intacct experience required Background in real estate, land development, construction, or multifamily required Strong knowledge of GAAP, consolidations, and joint venture/partnership reporting Experience managing budgets, forecasting, cash flow, and investor reporting Proven track record of stability and loyalty in prior roles (typically 4+ years at previous companies) AP/expenses experience with modern systems such as RAMP or equivalent Strong, steady performers (â€B+ playersâ€) who thrive in high-volume, complex accounting environments
