Job Overview:
A material handler is an individual responsible for the efficient and organized movement of materials within a warehouse. Their primary role involves loading and unloading shipments, sorting, and organizing inventory, and ensuring accurate record-keeping. They use various equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks to move materials safely and quickly. They play a crucial role in maintaining inventory accuracy, fulfilling orders, and supporting the overall logistics and supply chain operations of a business.
Key Responsibilities: Pick, pack, and prepare products and materials for shipment according to shipping orders Ensure complete accuracy of raw material inventory. Participate in the cycle counting program. Proper use of equipment, including but not limited to forklifts and pallet jacks, to move inventory. Record amounts of product received and distributed. Accountable for overall cleanliness/organization of the warehouse. Enter records into the computer system. Perform other tasks as assigned and required. Qualifications:
Ability to read and write in English. Strong work ethic. Forklift certification or willing to be certified. Excellent organization skills. Basic mathematical skills. Basic computer skills. Knowledge of proper safety measures.
Physical Demands:
Perform physical actions which may include frequent bending, twisting, reaching, walking, consistent standing, and the ability to lift/carry and push/pull objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.
