About the Role
The Company is in search of a visionary Vice President of Hardware Engineering to lead its global hardware development teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the creation of innovative connected products, including smart locks, smart safes, smart water shutoffs, and smart showers, across the company's premier brands. This strategic leadership role demands a focus on cutting-edge IoT hardware solutions for both consumer and business markets, ensuring exceptional user experiences while upholding the highest standards of security, reliability, and performance. The VP will lead a diverse team of hardware engineering professionals, oversee hardware design innovation, guide architecture decisions for wireless communications, and ensure optimal RF performance. Collaboration with industrial design, software engineering, and technology leadership teams is essential, as is the ability to manage multicultural teams and foster a culture of innovation and engineering excellence. Candidates for this role at the company should have a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related technical field, with a Master's or advanced degree preferred. A minimum of 15 years' hardware engineering experience, including at least 8 years in leadership roles, is required. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successful product launches, deep expertise in IoT hardware architecture, and strong technical knowledge of RF principles. Experience with a range of wireless communication protocols and a history of leading high-accountability teams are also essential. The role demands an individual with exceptional strategic thinking, visionary leadership capabilities, and the ability to make critical architectural decisions. Experience in smart home, security, or consumer IoT product development, as well as a background in building hardware products with stringent security requirements, is highly valued.
