The Telecom Construction Supervisor oversees and coordinates field construction activities for telecommunications projects, including fiber optic, coaxial, wireless, and other telecom infrastructure. This role ensures projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with company standards, customer requirements, and applicable regulations. The supervisor acts as the primary link between project management, field crews, subcontractors, and clients Responsibilities As a Construction Supervisor, you will support all phases of utility construction for various types of telecom projects. In addition, you will: Project Oversight: Supervise day-to-day construction operations for telecom builds (fiber, coax, copper, or wireless), ensuring scope, quality, and timelines are met. Crew Management: Direct schedule, and support construction crews and subcontractors; monitor productivity and workmanship. Safety Compliance: Enforce company and OSHA safety standards; conduct job site inspections and safety meetings. Quality Assurance: Inspect completed work to verify adherence to engineering specifications, standards, and customer requirements. Resource Coordination: Manage equipment, tools, and material needs; coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams. Documentation: Maintain accurate project records, daily logs, redlines/as-builts, and progress reports. Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the on-site point of contact for project managers, engineers, clients, inspectors, and local authorities. Problem Solving: Identify and resolve issues impacting construction schedules, permits, access, or field conditions. Training & Development: Mentor team members and ensure crews understand company processes and installation standards. Qualifications About You: Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or associate's degree in construction management, telecommunications, or related field preferred. Experience: 3-5+ years of telecom or utility construction experience, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory role. Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of outside plant (OSP), inside plant (ISP), fiber optics, aerial/underground construction methods, splicing, and permitting processes. Leadership and crew management Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, permits, and specifications Familiarity with construction scheduling and reporting tools Certifications (preferred): OSHA 10/30, CPR/First Aid, NCTI/Fiber certifications, CDL. Working Conditions Primarily field-based, with exposure to outdoor environments, varying weather, and active construction sites. Travel may be required within the project region. Walking, bending and the ability to lift to 50lbs is required. Must be comfortable with working at heights and operating construction equipment as needed.
