Position Overview:
As an Estimator, you will play a key role in supporting Executive Management and Project Managers through comprehensive estimating services. This position is central to our strategic planning and execution, requiring collaboration with both internal stakeholders and external partners. You will be responsible for preparing accurate estimates, building strong subcontractor/vendor relationships, and ensuring competitive, profitable bids.
Responsibilities:
Review Owner RFQs for revenue/margin potential and recommend bid approval
Collect and analyze project drawings, specifications, and available data
Conduct site visits, job walks, and pre-bid meetings
Prepare accurate take-offs using OnScreen Takeoff, Destiny Estimator, Bluebeam, etc.
Solicit, review, and negotiate subcontractor/vendor pricing
Perform cost analysis and prepare detailed pricing breakdowns
Ensure compliance with corporate guidelines and profitability targets
Maintain bid schedules and provide client-ready proposals
Utilize advanced estimating software to increase accuracy and efficiency
Develop insights on unsuccessful bids and adapt strategies for future opportunities
Desired Skills & Experience:
5+ years of estimating experience delivering projects from $1M to $10M+
Strong local market knowledge (Los Angeles, Orange County, Riverside, Ventura, San Diego)
Proficiency with estimating tools (Destiny Estimator, Destiny Bid Day, BuildingConnected, Bluebeam, Microsoft Suite, etc.)
Knowledge of sustainable materials and green building practices
Skilled negotiator with excellent analytical and presentation abilities
Strong financial forecasting and reporting skills
Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or equivalent experience
