*Overview*
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various healthcare settings, including home health, acute care, and skilled nursing facilities. As a COTA, you will play a crucial role in supporting children and individuals with developmental disabilities and delays by assisting with daily living skills, implementing therapy plans, and encouraging progress toward greater independence. Your expertise in patient care will be vital in enhancing the quality of life for individuals across different age groups, including geriatrics and pediatrics.
*Duties*
* Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) to promote independence and improve functionality. * Implement treatment plans developed by occupational therapists, ensuring adherence to established goals. * Provide care in diverse settings such as home health, outpatient clinics, inpatient facilities, and skilled nursing environments. * Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and adjust individualized care plans based on patient progress. * Utilize knowledge of anatomy and physiology to support effective treatment strategies. * Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress and treatment outcomes using medical terminology. * Educate patients and their families about therapeutic activities and techniques to enhance recovery. * Participate in team meetings to discuss patient care strategies and share insights on best practices.
*Requirements*
* Certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program. * Applicants must hold a current Wyoming state license as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA). * Experience working with children and individuals with autism, developmental disabilities in home, school, clinic, or community-based settings is preferred. * Knowledge of geriatrics and pediatrics to effectively address the needs of diverse patient populations. * Familiarity with developing care plans that align with patient goals and rehabilitation needs. * Proficiency in medical terminology relevant to occupational therapy practices. * Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare teams. * Ability to demonstrate compassion and empathy while providing patient-centered care.
