Lakeland, FL Job Description: Provide out-patient comprehensive pediatric endocrinology services including preventive and health maintenance services, acute and chronic care, clinical evaluation, diagnosis, and consultation services to CFHC clinical staff and outside specialists who see CFHC patients. RESPONSIBILITIES AND PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
Be familiar with CFHC’s program philosophies, goals, and objectives. Adheres to disease management protocols, and key clinical pathways, and use them to improve clinical performance. Completes all required paperwork on time. Understands the requirements of CFHC’s Exposure Control Plan. Facilitates needed referrals, including social services for patients requiring services not offered at CFHC. Participates in staff outreach and off-site health care programs requiring Internal Medicine services as requested by the CMO or CEO. Precepts Medical Students as assigned by CMO. Advises and assists ARNPs as needed in accord with approved protocols and procedures. Completes all duties, responsibilities, and competencies in a manner that is appropriate to the age groups to whom care / services are being provided. Assists in the review of endocrinology protocols and patient education materials in collaboration with CMO and DON. Provides necessary information and signatures for participation in reimbursement arrangements, such as Medicare, Medicaid, and other plans. Reviews incoming reports (lab, x-ray, EKG, etc.), sign-off, and follow up when indicated. Maintains up to date knowledge of coding and billing requirements. Rotates to other CFHC centers as needed to provide coverage. Provides off-hours and Saturday clinic coverage as assigned by CMO. Reports as needed to CMO any pertinent information or situations that impact on patient care or CFHC liability. Provides a leadership role for medical support staff. Supports patients with serious or complex endocrine conditions and their family members as needed. Conducts research and studies on the endocrine system and its diseases, disorders, and conditions to develop new treatment techniques. Remains up to date on current endocrinology discoveries, developments, trends, research, and technology. Attends and participates in mandatory CFHC meetings. Participates in Peer Review activities as requested by CMO. Assists with the recruitment of other physicians and clinical staff in collaboration with HR and CMO. Makes recommendations to the CMO regarding the purchase of Medications, clinical supplies, instruments, and equipment, and repair and/or maintenance of these. Demonstrates ability to work cooperatively with other members of the clinical team. Maintains neat and professional appearance at all times. Performs any other activities deemed appropriate by the CMO or CEO. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Residency trained Physician Board Eligible/Certified in Pediatric Endocrinology Licensure: Florida License Certifications: DEA and BLS Insurability (malpractice) Medical staff privileges at an appropriate hospital if designated by CFHC Computer literacy EMR experience BENEFITS
