Preferred qualifications:

Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field. Experience with security assessments, vulnerability management, security research, vulnerability investigation or security development life-cycle. Experience with open source software and infrastructure development. Experience in one or more languages (e.g., C++, Python, Rust). Proficiency in code and system health, diagnosis and resolution, and software test engineering. About the job

As a software engineer, you will work on a specific project critical to Google’s needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. With your technical expertise you will manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables. You will design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions. As a Software Engineer, you will work on tooling and automation that keeps our security operations healthy and efficient. You will participate in creating new automation that will directly impact the Chrome vulnerability life-cycle and ensure that we are able to release security fixes as quickly as possible. In this role, you will gain knowledge of our security bug triage, vulnerability management, security fix release, and Vulnerability Rewards Program (VRP) processes. You will also work on tooling to support the generation of security metrics and dashboards as part of Product Security initiatives. Responsibilities

Develop and maintain existing security tooling and automation and work with Chrome Product Security to identify any areas of friction in vulnerability management, bug triage, or other operations and devise new tooling or automation to address them. Collaborate with other engineers on the team to create new tools to automate processes. Develop and maintain data analysis tools, dashboards, and reporting of security metrics.
