316 S Blackwelder, Oklahoma City, OK, 73108 JOB SUMMARY: The Director of Policy and Engagement plays a critical role in advancing Goodwill Central Oklahoma’s mission through public policy advocacy, stakeholder engagement, and community partnership development. This position monitors policy issues, builds relationships with elected officials and community leaders, and represents Goodwill in public forums to influence change that benefits individuals facing barriers to employment. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Community Outreach & Relationship-Building : Develop and execute outreach strategies to increase awareness of Goodwill programs and services. Represent Goodwill at community events, panels, conferences, and collaborative meetings. Build and maintain relationships with employers, nonprofits, schools, workforce boards, chambers, and civic organizations. Identify and address community needs to ensure organizational relevance and impact. Facilitate partnerships that remove barriers for program participants. Advocacy & Legislative Engagement Monitor and analyze local, state, and federal policy developments relevant to Goodwill’s mission. Publicly support and advocate for legislation that aligns with Goodwill’s priorities. Participate in workforce policy commissions, advisory boards, and legislative bodies. Present Goodwill’s priorities through meetings, testimony, and written statements. Develop policy briefs, position statements, and advocacy materials. Build and maintain relationships with policymakers, government agencies, and advocacy organizations. Coordinate meetings, site visits, and briefings with elected officials and public stakeholders. Share data and participant success stories to educate policymakers. Strategic Communication & Reporting Assist in implementing strategic plans for advocacy, workforce development, and revenue growth. Collaborate with communications staff to amplify Goodwill’s mission via media, social channels, and public speaking. Maintain accurate records of outreach, advocacy, and development activities, tracking results both qualitatively and quantitatively. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s in a related field preferred. Strong relationship-building, communication, and public speaking skills. Knowledge of nonprofit development, fundraising, and donor cultivation practices. Understanding of legislative processes, workforce trends, and community engagement strategies. Ability to lift 25 pounds with or without assistance. Local travel required, providing own transportation. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Works in a climate-controlled office environment most of the time. Requires some local travel for meetings, events, and community engagement.
