Pendleton Swim Club (PSC) in Pendleton, IN is looking for learn-to-swim instructor to join our team! We offer swim lessons to all in the Pendleton-area community, 4 years to adolescent, as well as adult lessons. Our ideal candidate is attentive, punctual, and reliable. Job Description 1.
Be a dedicated, driven and fun-loving individual who is invested in the success of the students they teach. 2.
Establish and maintain positive working relationships with those in contact for work as a representative and ambassador of PSC. 3.
Partner with program participant parents/guardians through frequent communication following each lesson. 4.
Assist with evaluations for group placement, as needed. 5.
Session, weekly and daily planning for lesson groups. 6.
Provide instruction, feedback and evaluation to each lesson program participant to successfully progress through lesson program. 7.
Respond to emergency situations, as required. 8.
Attend regular staff meetings. Responsibilities Plan lessons, select age-appropriate activities and evaluate children’s swim levels and progress, under the supervision of Coordinator and Supervisor Follow a structured swim lesson curriculum emphasizing fun, safety, and skill progression Provide positive feedback and adjust lessons as needed to address individual needs Maintain ongoing communication with deck coordinator(s) and administrative personnel Maintain a positive and energetic attitude and exhibit passion for teaching swimming Ensure a safe, clean, and organized pool environment Wear appropriate attire Attend in-service training sessions and staff meetings Perform other job-related duties as required Qualifications Expertise working with children Teaching parent/child classes Experience teaching adult classes Ability to form positive, supportive relationships with both children and adults Enthusiastic attitude and team-player mindset Must be open to a collaborative environment and daily feedback from our leadership team Water Safety certification or equivalent experience is a plus Benefits We offer on-the-job training, continued education in-service training and opportunities for aquatics role development and advancement.
