Overview

Software Development Engineer II, Amazon. Automation of financial record keeping (FRK) is a critical scaling challenge across digital businesses. The DA FRK organization has the charter for simplifying and speeding up the end-to-end accounting automation journey by creating a new architecture.

Responsibilities

• Define the architecture for the Next Gen financial automation programs and independently lead technical direction.
• Influence the technical direction of other teams within the Digital Acceleration org and partner businesses.
• Tackle complex architectural problems, innovate in the space, and drive product direction.
• Work with a team of software engineers and learn from experienced technical leaders.
• Operate with state-of-the-art technologies in AWS, Big Data, and Open Source spaces.
• Build highly scalable, highly available services; operate with a motivation to achieve results in a fast-paced environment, strong creativity, and analytical reasoning.
• Support the growth of Amazon’s Digital Businesses by enabling financial record keeping for Kindle eBooks, Prime Video, Amazon Appstore, Amazon Music, Digital Software & Video Games, and other digital businesses.

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) experience
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent
