Overview

Job: Phlebotomist II - Float

Duration: 5-6 Months

Shift: Mon-Fri and Rotating Saturdays; hours typically from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. start, ending between 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.

Location: Bradenton, FL 34202

Training locations may vary based on trainer availability.

Travel and Schedule

Floaters travel between multiple sites and are expected to be on time at whichever site they are covering for that day. They must also have a clean driving record. Floaters are able to submit mileage for expense reimbursement.

Responsibilities

  • Provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
  • Perform phlebotomy with excellent skills, including pediatric and geriatric patients.
  • Be flexible and available based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
  • Adhere to all Policies & Procedures, including Company dress code, Employee Health & Safety, and Everyday Excellence Guiding Principles.
  • Make decisions based on established procedures and exercise good judgment.
  • Maintain reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record where applicable.
  • Travel and flexible hours required to work at multiple locations and cover at Patient Service Center/In-Office Phlebotomy sites with minimal notice.
  • Capable of managing multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
  • Demonstrate superior customer focus and ability to communicate openly with peers, supervisors, and patients; adapt to change; and understand our business.

Qualifications

  • Required Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Medical training (medical assistant or paramedic) preferred. Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
  • Work Experience: 1-3 years phlebotomy experience required, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections; 2 years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred; customer service in a retail or service environment strongly preferred; keyboard/data entry experience.

Additional Details

  • Floaters travel between multiple sites and are expected to be on time at each site. A clean driving record is required. Mileage expenses are handled for inter-site travel.
  • Rate is based on years of DIRECT EXPERIENCE as listed in the resume. Overlapping roles do not count twice.
  • Must have reliable transportation to get to/from the worksite (public transit, bus, Uber, or rideshare is not considered reliable transportation).
  • Must be available to work as scheduled, be on time, and stay for the entire shift. Excessive absenteeism or tardiness is not tolerated and may result in termination.
