Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Performance Tester to join our team in Denver, CO. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in designing, executing, and analyzing performance tests across enterprise applications. This role involves building test strategies, executing load and stress tests, identifying bottlenecks, and providing recommendations for performance improvements at the application, database, and infrastructure levels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and execute load, stress, scalability, spike, and endurance tests.
  • Define performance test strategy, NFRs, SLAs/SLOs, and success criteria.
  • Collaborate with developers, architects, and business teams to identify performance requirements.
  • Embed performance validation into CI/CD pipelines and enable shift-left testing.
  • Analyze test results using APM and monitoring tools (Dynatrace, AppDynamics, New Relic, Splunk, etc.) to identify system bottlenecks.
  • Provide recommendations for code, configuration, database, and infrastructure optimization.
  • Lead capacity planning and performance tuning to ensure system readiness for production.
  • Document test results, create performance reports, and present findings to stakeholders.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 8–12+ years of proven experience in performance testing and engineering.
  • Hands-on expertise with performance testing tools: LoadRunner, JMeter, NeoLoad, or Gatling.
  • Strong experience with APM tools: Dynatrace, AppDynamics, New Relic, OpenTelemetry.
  • Proficiency in scripting, parameterization, and correlation for performance tests.
  • Solid understanding of web technologies, APIs, databases, and middleware.
  • Experience in cloud-based environments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
  • Knowledge of profiling, SQL query tuning, and root cause analysis.
  • Excellent problem-solving, reporting, and stakeholder communication skills.
