Overview

We are seeking a Data Analyst/Engineer to design, build, and maintain modern data solutions utilizing Microsoft Fabric. This role combines hands-on data engineering with analytical problem-solving to deliver reliable, scalable, and governed data platforms. The Data Analyst/Engineer will work closely with business and IT teams to ensure data is accurate, accessible, and supports informed decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Design and manage data pipelines in Microsoft Fabric (Data Factory, Dataflows, Lakehouse, Pipelines).
  • Ingest, transform, and organize data from ERP, HR, CRM, project management, and API sources.
  • Optimize storage in OneLake and Fabric Lakehouse for cost and performance.
  • Apply data modeling practices (Star Schema, Dimensional, Data Vault) aligned with business needs.
  • Build and enhance Power BI dashboards and reports using Fabric’s Direct Lake Mode.
  • Conduct exploratory analysis to identify trends and anomalies, translating findings into business insights.
  • Apply governance principles and monitor data quality for accuracy, timeliness, and completeness.
  • Manage permissions and security in Fabric, ensuring compliance with standards.
  • Document pipelines, transformations, and models for transparency and reusability.
  • Partner with business and IT teams to define KPIs and use cases for analytics.
  • Support migrations from legacy data warehouses and ETL processes into Fabric.
  • Share expertise, train users, and stay current on Microsoft Fabric updates.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in Data Engineering and/or Analytics.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric (Data Factory, Dataflows, Data Lakehouse, OneLake, Power BI).
  • Strong SQL skills with expertise in data transformations and performance-tuning.
  • Proficiency in DAX and Power Query (M).
  • Familiarity with Python or PySpark for advanced data engineering tasks.
  • Solid understanding of data modeling techniques (Kimball, Inmon, Data Vault).
  • Experience with governance practices and frameworks (DAMA-DMBOK, Microsoft Purview preferred).

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Knowledge of APIs or event-based data ingestion.
