Mulberry is partnering with a nationally recognized wholesaler who has been in business for over seventy years. Reporting to the Controller, they are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead a team of four and work cross-functionally across the organization. You will have an opportunity to make an immediate impact serving as a key member of the forward-thinking finance team.
A day in the life:
- Lead process improvement initiatives and the alignment of and standardization of accounting processes across 2 accounting teams, systems and locations
- Enhance financial reporting capabilities across the organization
- Hands-on focus on accurate transaction posting, month-end close, and financial reporting
- Assist in the preparation of company-wide financial statements and monthly financial performance review package
- Coach the team by setting clear expectations, timely performance reviews, provide regular performance feedback/training
- ID technical accounting issues, research associated accounting guidance to develop & eval options, implement solutions
- Validates and ensures financial data and work products are complete and accurate
- Act as a key acctg contact to the business; communicate with cross-functional teams in Sales, Purchasing, Marketing, HR, etc.
- Analyze accounting data to help provide insights, forecast inputs and to drive actionable outcomes
Your areas of knowledge and expertise:
- BA/BS or MBA in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related fields with relevant accounting experience
- CPA required (current or lapsed)
- 5+ years working as an Auditor for a Public Accounting firm preferred
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and FASB Accounting Standards, specifically in ASC 606, ASC 330, ASC 842
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Prior involvement in Accounting Department transformations and/or experience designing and implementing process improvements
- Experience with ERP systems and BI tools preferred
- Experience in a wholesale retail environment preferred
Compensation and Benefits: $130-140K in annual compensation (DOE) plus benefits
