Accounting Director is responsible for developing accurate and timely financial information for executive review while providing proper fiduciary control over the organization's financial resources. This role is highly visible and will require an individual who can lead strategic efforts, drive initiatives, mentor and develop a team, and support leadership with financial insights.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritizes health and safety by adhering to policies and maintaining safe practices at all times.
  • Provides Company and location leadership with accurate and timely monthly financial statements prepared in accordance with GAAP; develops, reviews and implements internal accounting control systems or standards to underpin monthly statements.
  • Leads the preparation of and facilitates the annual audit of financial statements by the organization\'s external auditors.
  • Participates in leading operational-based Accounting functions such as Credit and Collections, Billing, Cash Application, Accounts Payable and Capital Acquisition.
  • Supports the ongoing development and utilization of financial planning and reporting tools (Oracle EPM, Power BI) across the organization to improve operational and financial transparency.
  • Serves as the Accounting Lead for all operational excellence / Lean Six Sigma initiatives and projects.
  • Partners with location/functional leaders and Finance leaders to understand and communicate differences between actual and budget performance; identifies actions to improve business performance.
  • Collaborates with various business unit leaders to develop and report KPIs; incorporates metrics into reports, dashboards, and business reviews.
  • Drives clarity amongst business unit leaders by connecting operational metrics to financial performance to improve decision making.
  • Assists in the development of leadership presentations, including monthly financial and dashboard reviews and advisory board meetings.
  • Provides financial and business support for various M&A activities, including financial modeling and sensitivity analysis.
  • Mentors and provides resources for the Accounting team to grow individual and team success.
  • Maintains the ability to travel as needed, up to 20%.
  • Takes on additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting (required).
  • MBA (preferred).
  • Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant (preferred).

Experience

  • 10+ years of industry experience (required).
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience (required).
  • Previous experience utilizing PeopleSoft Financials (preferred).

  • Regular and predictable attendance.
