Black and McDonald is actively seeking an Accountant who typically reports directly to the Controller. This role, in conjunction with the Controller, will execute projects in accordance with Corporate Policy.

Responsibilities

• Assist AP with voucher processing, issuing payments, document retention/management
• Month end closing and reconciliation
• Preparation, review & analysis of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports
• Assist with preparation of payrolls for hourly employees, and related government & union remittances & reporting
• Budgeting and Forecasting
• Customer Billing for Large Projects
• Bank account reconciliations
• General Ledger account reconciliations
• Tax Preparation and Compliance
• Process and controls monitoring
• Other numerous accounting duties

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in finance or business administration, accounting or similar field
• Minimum of 5 years’ related work experience, preferably in the construction industry
• Public accounting experience a plus
• Excellent written and oral communications
• Outstanding organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task
• Superior interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in JD Edwards or Oracle-based software would be considered an asset
• Working knowledge of all Microsoft Applications
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Education
