Overview
K&L Gates is seeking a smart, imaginative and hard-working Legal Recruiting Coordinator to join the firm. The Coordinator will provide support to the Recruiting and Learning and Professional Development (L&PD) functions and coordinate activities, projects, and programs that may be local, national, or global. The Coordinator will be part of a regional team responsible for recruiting efforts in various offices, as well as firmwide Recruiting and L&PD initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Student and Lateral Associate Recruitment: Coordinate scheduling candidate interviews, travel arrangements, hotel reservations, and expense reimbursements; assist in producing correspondence related to recruiting efforts; assist with on-campus and job fair interview coordination; process resumes from candidates, placement firms, and referrals; maintain recruitment database and all recruitment and candidates files.
- Summer Associate Program: Coordinate events including orientation, training programs and social events; assist with tracking summer associate assignments and evaluations; attend summer associate events as necessary; assist with producing related correspondence.
- Talent Management: Coordinate pre-arrival and onboarding details for new lawyers, including bar examination and review course fees, stipends and advance payments, orientation programs, and new hire paperwork.
- L&PD Coordination: Coordinate with the Professional Development Team regarding Summer and First Year Associate curriculum, including serving as On-Site Coordinator for the office.
- Event Coordination: Manage room bookings, catering, presenter and program materials, room setup, and attendance counts; organize and distribute training materials.
- Ad hoc and Administrative Duties: Support additional projects and other operational or administrative tasks as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Administrative/secretarial experience supporting recruiting and learning and professional development functions, preferably in a professional services environment
- Proficiency in office software, including document processing, spreadsheets, databases, email and calendars, internet, and an applicant tracking system
- Ability to learn new computer applications and functions; strong interpersonal skills to work with lawyers, management, administrators, and staff
- Ability to anticipate issues, solve problems, manage multiple tasks and projects, and adapt to changing priorities
- Highly organized with strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong work ethic and professional approach; ability to follow instructions and adhere to process; attention to detail
- Team player with a positive, can-do attitude; cooperative and supportive
- Experience within a law firm, partnership, or professional services environment desirable; some HR generalist support or talent-related experience desirable
- Experience working with legal search firms and coordinating lateral placement agreements desirable
- Interest in professional development activities through associations (e.g., NALP, ALA, SHRM) desirable
Other Abilities
- Ability to work overtime and some travel with overnight stays may be required
- Office-based role; routine use of computer and standard office equipment; ability to lift files and perform related physical activities as needed
Compensation
Base pay range: $63,000.00/yr - $110,000.00/yr. The compensation salary for this position will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on factors including prior experience, relevance of expertise, business needs, and market factors.
