Job Description

Summary: The individual(s) will be responsible for the support and improvement of manufacturing product lines for Sarasota Legacy Products and New Products.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Uses systematic, data-driven problem-solving processes and continuous improvement processes such as 8D, A3, DMAIC, PDCA.
  • Designs/innovates manufacturing processes and methods.
  • Documents manufacturing processes - MDI key contributor
  • Evaluates drawing, specification, and other data.
  • Evaluates new manufacturing technologies that are relevant to business requirements.
  • Writes Capital justification requests.
  • Achieves target cost savings and department productivity goals.
  • Participates in MRB activities.
  • Regular, predictable attendance is required.
  • Must be willing to work overtime as necessary.

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment working with drawings, suppliers, technicians, and engineers.
  • Strong mechanical and technical background in electrical and mechanical systems with hands-on experience.
  • Self-starter & drive for excellence.
  • General knowledge of Engineering Standards, drawings, routings, bill of materials, and work instructions.
  • Understanding of various machining and manufacturing processes.
  • Strong ability to collect and interpret data to troubleshoot and problem solve.
  • Experience with CAD for 3D modeling and drafting.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Microsoft Excel

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or another relevant discipline of Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • 2 years of prior experience in manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with Configuration Control and PLM systems.
  • Experience with ERP Systems.
  • Hands-on experience with machining processes.
  • Lean & Six Sigma knowledge.

Physical Demands: Stationary 50% / Mobility 50% may include lifting up to 25lbs

Work Environment: Equal split between office work and working on the shop floor with production technicians.
