Overview

Albany Engineered Composites (AEC) designs, develops, and manufactures advanced composite components to help customers push the frontiers of innovation. Our core strength is the ability to produce highly tailored, complex composite components, including 3D woven structures, traditional and nontraditional 2D composite structures, and discrete through thickness reinforcement technologies. AEC produces components and products that often meet performance and cost specifications beyond the reach of metallic or conventional laminated composites.

The Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of composite manufacturing processes, ensuring production goals are met while maintaining the highest standards in safety, quality, and efficiency. This role leads and develops a team of technicians and operators in a fast-paced aerospace environment.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities of assigned production team in composite layup, bonding, curing, trimming, painting, and assembly processes.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, quality standards, and production schedules.
  • Monitor workflow, prioritize tasks, and allocate resources to meet delivery deadlines.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure adherence to specifications, work instructions, and AS9100/ISO standards.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Maintenance to resolve production issues and implement process improvements.
  • Lead shift meetings and promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and teamwork.
  • Train and mentor employees on composite manufacturing techniques and safety procedures.
  • Maintain accurate production records, shift reports, and attendance.

Experience/Education/Skills

  • Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a technical field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in composite manufacturing, preferably in the aerospace industry.
  • 1–2 years of leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Strong understanding of composite manufacturing, such as vacuum bagging, autoclave/oven curing, and bonding processes, assembly, painting, and machining.
  • Working knowledge of lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specs, and work instructions.
  • Effective communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours.
