Salary Range:
$15.96 - $16.90 depending on prior experience in related role.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for emptying and cleaning waste receptacles, recycling containers, and disposal of trash throughout the building in order to ensure a clean work environment.
- Cleans restrooms and breakroom; replenishes supplies, cleans and disinfects tables and counters, cleans sinks, fixtures and equipment to maintain sanitary conditions in these areas.
- Sweeps, mops, vacuums, the building and stairways; dusts and polishes furniture, woodwork, metalwork, fixtures, and equipment; washes walls, fixtures, equipment and accessible interior and exterior windows.
- Keeps utility storage areas and custodial equipment clean and in good working order; reports safety hazards and repairs that are needed in order to maintain a safe working conditions throughout the building.
- Set up and tear down furniture and equipment for events.

Knowledge
- The methods and practices used in cleaning floors, walls, windows, fixtures and furnishings.
- The safe and appropriate use of cleaning materials, chemicals, disinfectants, and janitorial equipment.
- Cleaning chemicals, their interactions, and safe disposal methods.
The Ability
- Learn and apply the approved methods of cleaning and caring for buildings, fixtures and equipment; learn to operate cleaning equipment.
- Perform occasional heavy manual labor; operating janitorial equipment; lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Perform tasks which require manual dexterity, coordination, and balance.
- Identify areas in need of cleaning and clean as appropriate.
- Read, understand and apply written instructions, including work procedures, employee handbooks, policy manuals, product labels, material safety data sheets, and equipment instruction manuals.
Requirements
Education and Training
- High School Diploma or Equivalency.
Prior Experience
6 months-1 year prior experience in professional janitorial employment.
Schedule
Full Time, Second Shift, during department hours of operation
- Monday - Thursday 2:45pm - 11:45pm
- Friday 2:45pm - 9:15pm
- Will receive an additional 10% shift differential for the schedule
