Overview
Vascular Access Nurse Consultant - PICC RN, Modesto, California. VIC the PICC ("VTP") provides vascular access consulting services to acute care hospitals, skilled nursing facilities and home healthcare, including device insertion, post-access support, declotting, line removal, port access, and troubleshooting. VTP delivers on-site and mobile vascular access support across the Western and Southern United States, with a focus on integrity, support, respect, inquisitiveness, compassion and stewardship.
Responsibilities
- Place PICCs, midlines and peripheral IVs with ultrasound guidance and ECG confirmation.
- Assist with management of PICCs and other vascular access devices.
- Provide a wide range of vascular access services including port access, line removal, declotting, and related support.
- Educate facility nursing staff regarding PICCs, midlines and CVADs.
- Travel to patient sites and facilities to fulfill scheduling requirements as dictated by business needs.
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse with current license.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in acute care preferred.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Experience placing ultrasound-guided IVs (USGIV) and ultrasound-guided vascular access device placements.
- Experience with vascular access device management, care, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Ability to work independently and fulfill scheduling requirements as indicated by job classification.
- Current driver's license, auto insurance, smartphone, and reliable transportation for travel to patient sites.
Compensation
Hourly pay range: $64.17 - $77.05 USD. Compensation is based on candidate experience and relevant certifications.
Schedule & Travel
Full-time scheduling typically requires three to four days per week, including weekends, with participation in the holiday rotation. Part-time (Per Diem) requires a minimum of four scheduled shifts per month, including weekends, and holiday rotation participation.
