About the Role: Join our team as a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant where you’ll focus on budgeting and forecasting initiatives and key general ledger responsibilities. This role will assist with the preparation of journal entries and financial statements, and will require the analysis of complex financial data to produce insightful, actionable reports. Success in this position requires strong collaboration with cross-functional teams, a deep understanding of corporate or governmental accounting, and a passion for precision and meaningful financial impact. Responsibilities

Core activities include budgeting and forecasting initiatives, handling key general ledger responsibilities, preparing journal entries and financial statements, analyzing complex financial data to produce insightful, actionable reports, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely financial information.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited four-year college or university
• One (1) to three (3) years of experience in related field
• Strong communication, interpersonal, written, oral, and team skills
• Strong analytical skills
• Ability to work independently on projects in a timely manner
• Experience and proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Maintain a valid driver’s license

Physical Requirements:

• Sedentary work; exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time in normal office conditions, but does involve walking or standing outside periodically for inspections, customer calls, etc. Work requires no unusual physical demands. Physical demands for a specific position within this classification may vary and/ or exceed those demands described above.

Preferred Requirements:

• CPA, MBA, or advanced degree is preferred
• Three (3) years experience in related field
• Knowledge in the utility industry
• Strong analytical and technological skills
• Experience with accounting applications/enterprise software
