As the Flow Coordinator Lead you will be responsible for the management of the Trauma patients throughout the hospital as well asPatient flow in the ER with a focus on achieving LOS targets. You will be an integral part of our amazing team, where we work hard to support the patients in our community and each other. We are looking for someone who feels patient care is as meaningful as we do. In this coordinator role: You will function as an expert practitioner who provides for the clinical needs of trauma patients, both directly and indirectly. You will assign the proper triage level and recognize when that triage level is assigned incorrectly, modifying the patient's triage level as needed. You will work in conjunction with the ED Clinical Supervisor/ Relief Charge Nurse, as well as the key MD provider, assisting with flow and patient placement to impact LOS metrics. You will monitor wait times of test results (Lab, Radiology), including contacting departments and prodding physicians as warranted to move the patient forward. You will work with the Charge nurse on evaluating the change, influx of patients and as needed, modify triage process to ensure wait time is minimized. You will coordinate rounds throughout the department with a specific focus on LOS and disposition. Identifies patients that are near the end of the stay, politely displacing them into other locations to make room You will coordinate the development, implementation, review and revision of multi-disciplinary practice management guidelines for trauma patients and the trauma systems. You will activate department Code Sepsis within the department to ensure that bundle compliance is achieved consistently. You will collaborate with the Educator and preceptors to ensure that new employee goals are met regarding this patient population. What qualifications you will need:

Current licensure in Alaska as a Registered Nurse Minimum of two (2) years clinical practice in the Emergency Room. American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Life Support Course (ALS or ACLS) and Certification American Red Cross or American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Course and Certification or Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) TNNC required within one year of start date CEN and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) optional HCA Healthcare's Alaska Regional Hospital is known for our expertise, compassion and skills.
