Night (United States of America) Job Description

As a Nurse Assistant at Lurie Childrens, you will be at the heart of our pediatric care team, making a difference each day by supporting other nursing staff in compassionate and top-quality patient care. Nurse Assistants

Help warmly welcome families to the ambulatory clinic area. Assist with taking and documenting vital signs, documentation of medical information, point of care testing, medical procedures, and intra hospital transport. Ensure that patients and their families are safe and comfortable. Assist nursing staff in ensuring all medical equipment is stocked and in clean, working condition. Ensure proper disposal of medical waste, keep rooms neat and tidy, and perform patient rounds in a timely manner. General Medical Unit Information

48-bed unit with patients ranging in age from birth to young adulthood. Specialization in respiratory illnesses: asthma, RSV, flu, bronchiolitis, cystic fibrosis & pneumonia. Care for a wide variety of patients with general medical needs, including medically complex patients with chronic conditions and behavioral issues. Position Details

Night shift and every third weekend. Staff must remain in current position for at least six months before qualification for position changes. Position openings for different start times will be released by the Scheduling Committee based on unit needs; positions are filled by seniority. Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent. Successful completion of an accredited CNA Program. Current CNA certification in the State of Illinois, active/good standing. Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association. One year of hospital experience required; pediatrics strongly preferred. Orientation

14 weeks of 1:1 precepted orientation. Orientation classes including skills day, assessment classes, general medicine class day, behavioral health training (Welle), clinical exchanges, BLS & PALS. Ways to Get Involved

High School Diploma/GED (Required) Pay Range

$18.50-$27.75 Hourly We are committed to competitive and fair compensation aligned with market rates and internal equity, reflecting individual contributions, experience, and expertise.
