On the Shea unit, you will be part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary care team that provides quality healthcare in a 30-bed medical-surgical and telemetry unit, along with additional beds for step-down/PCU and orthopedic patients. Role Summary As a Patient Care Technician (PCT), you will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, performing vital functions that cater to the age-specific needs of patients. Your role will involve: Assisting patients with activities of daily living and documenting care in the medical record. Obtaining and recording vital signs, blood glucose levels, EKGs, and patient intake/output while promptly reporting any abnormal findings to the Registered Nurse. Delivering quality customer service through a compassionate approach to patient needs. Qualifications High school graduate or equivalent required. Completion of a certified nursing training program, experience as a home health aide, or enrollment in a nursing program or a clinical vocation. BLS certification required or must be obtained within the first three months of employment. Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in patient care is preferred, as well as familiarity with medical terminology. CNA certification obtained within the last 6 months or nursing students with at least one year of clinical experience are encouraged to apply. We are committed to your career growth.
