Travel Job Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position on a rotating day/night schedule requiring recent specialty experience and key certifications.
Responsibilities Position is based in the Med/Surg Telemetry unit of a hospital setting Rotating day and night 12-hour shifts (7am-7:30pm/7pm-7:30am), typically in 2-week blocks Contract length up to 18 weeks available Every other holiday coverage is required ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate assessments will be completed as part of orientation, with a maximum of two attempts allowed Qualified oncology nurses can be trained in chemotherapy administration Annual module completion is required and must be recorded via Silkroad Applicants with open license cases will not be considered Candidates must complete BCI/FBI fingerprints within 48 hours of contract signing Nurses are temporarily exempt from nicotine-free hiring requirements Permanent and per diem staff must wait 1 year after their previous end date before returning Onsite fingerprinting and badge pick-up are required before start date
Requirements Active permanent Ohio RN license or Compact license in hand is required Minimum 18 months of recent permanent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience prior to travel assignments is required Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required Acceptable score on ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate assessments during orientation is required One year of recent oncology/chemotherapy administration experience is preferred but not required Two references from supervisory staff in Med/Surg Telemetry are required for consideration
