The Medical Assistant plays a vital role in providing exemplary care to patients and their significant others, through both direct interaction and telephone support, while adhering to established standards and practices. You will work closely with the care team to ensure smooth care delivery, maximizing coordination, and encouraging active patient participation in their own care plans.
Primary Responsibilities:
Exhibit clinical competence in direct patient care and assist physicians with various procedures. Perform clinical duties within your scope of practice while adhering to departmental standards, policies, and protocols. Proactively address individual patient and family needs during their visit, ensuring timely communication of these needs. Assist in directing and escorting patients to exam rooms efficiently. Demonstrate clinical competency when assisting medical providers during examination and diagnostic procedures. Competently perform authorized clinical procedures such as taking vital signs, vision screening, and selected laboratory tests as directed. Seek guidance from physicians or nursing staff when necessary to ensure patient safety and care quality. Prepare e-prescriptions for pharmacy processing as instructed by the physician. Inspect, clean, prepare, and process medical instruments and equipment following manufacturers' guidelines. Properly label and prepare specimens for laboratory transport and ensure appropriate orders are entered in EPIC. Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED. 1+ years of relevant experience as a Medical Assistant in a medical office, clinic, or hospital setting OR possess a Nationally Recognized Medical Assistant Certification from a recognized agency such as NAHP, NCCT, AAMA, AMT, or NH. Preferred Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant Program. Current CPR/BLS certification. The hourly wage for this position ranges from $16.00 to $28.85 for full-time employment, based on factors such as local labor markets, education, experience, and certifications.
