Patient Care Technician - Lab Technician

The Patient Care Technician/Lab Technician will assist the providers in the care of patients while utilizing clinical skills to perform duties appropriate for the level of training. This position also supports other clinical staff by assisting with overall care of patients and families in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform patient assessments, identify needs, and provide care under supervision
Maintain clean and organized patient rooms and workspaces
Document patient information and treatment updates accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR) system
Respect and uphold patient rights, ensuring all patients are treated with dignity
Measure and document vital signs, administer select medications, and monitor patient responses
Assist with lab sample collection and perform routine tests (CBC, Chemistry, Strep, etc.)
Dispense durable medical equipment (DME) and ensure appropriate paperwork is completed
Maintain and stock patient rooms, handle emergency equipment checks, and assist with opening/closing procedures.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Active role requiring frequent walking, standing, and lifting (up to 50 lbs).
Must be able to perform CPR and other physical tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma or GED required
Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Experience: One year in pediatrics preferred; urgent care or emergency experience is a plus
Proficiency with EMR systems
Excellent communication and bedside manner
Hours of Operation:
Monday-Thursday : 1:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Friday : 1:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Saturday & Sunday : 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM
