Industry Banking Type Privately Held About the Role The company is on the lookout for a Director of Merchant Acquiring to spearhead the go-to-market strategy aimed at enhancing client acquisition and expanding the acquiring portfolio across multiple industries and distribution channels. The successful candidate will be tasked with crafting and implementing a robust go-to-market plan in alignment with the organization’s payments strategy and revenue objectives. This role calls for a unique blend of industry insight, commercial strategy, and collaborative engagement to build a thriving acquiring business. Key Responsibilities: Drive the development of the acquiring portfolio through proactive business development, strategic partnerships, and expansion into vertical markets. Establish and monitor sales KPIs to ensure clarity of the pipeline and accountability. Lead initiatives that facilitate merchant acquisition across various service models. Foster relationships with ISOs, ISVs, fintechs, PayFacs, and banks, leveraging industry knowledge for optimal outcomes. Guide teams on embedded finance models and integrated payment solutions within vertical SaaS environments. Stay informed on digital onboarding, tokenization, mobile wallets, and emerging payment technologies. Qualified candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree and at least 10 years of experience in the payments sector, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior sales or business development leadership role related to merchant acquiring. Expertise in card network regulations, acquiring risk standards, and compliance requirements is essential. Strong leadership, exceptional communication and negotiation skills, and familiarity with acquiring solutions from relevant providers are crucial for success in this role.
