DESCRIPTION
Under the direct supervision of the clinic manager and the general supervision of the clinic providers and licensed nursing staff, performs patient care duties that require specific knowledge and training within the business and professions code of California and/or The Joint Commission (TJC) regulations. Responsibilities include scheduling patient appointments, managing patient system screens, accurate billing, environmental care, equipment and supply management, and maintaining a clean/disinfected environment. Knowledge of medical terminology, online scheduling, universal precautions, and proper body mechanics is required. The position demands initiative, prioritization skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or completion of a Medical Assistant training program. Current BART or BLS certification with a commitment to obtain BART within six months of hire. At least two years of Certified Medical Assistant experience. Medical terminology certification or training. Proficiency in computer operations, including IDX, Outlook, Word processing, Microsoft Word, and Excel. Flexibility to adapt to varying demands in a specialty clinic setting. Strong teamwork skills. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in Infectious Disease practice. Knowledge of insurance processes. Back-office Medical Assistant experience in a multi-specialty clinic. Experience working in an Infectious Disease clinic or practice. Experience caring for older adults or patients with long-term illnesses. Experience in both front and back office roles. SPECIAL CONDITIONS
Availability to work various hours and locations as needed. Cross-coverage responsibilities for the Senior Behavioral Health Outpatient Clinic in Hillcrest. Employment contingent upon criminal background check and pre-employment physical. Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $52,847 - $65,772 (prorated if less than full-time) Hourly Range: $25.31 - $31.50 Salary factors include experience, skills, knowledge, education, licensure, certifications, and organizational needs.
